To have complete anonymity while surfing online can be done by using TOR (The Onion Router)...it is free.  When you surf you give away a lot more information that you know.  If you want true privacy you can use the TOR software to guarantee that you remain anonymous.  Below I have links to the TOR site and a TWIT netcast that goes into an in depth look at how TOR works.
